Dimensions Recreates Tesco's 1960s Uniforms for Goodwood Revival
For another year, Dimensions partnered with Tesco to recreate authentic 1960s uniforms for the renowned Goodwood Revival Festival, helping bring a nostalgic shopping experience to life for thousands of visitors.
Attracting more than 150,000 attendees each year, the festival celebrates the style and spirit of Britain's motoring heritage. As part of the event, Tesco transforms part of the site into a fully themed 1960s supermarket, complete with period packaging, classic products and vintage games.
Recreating a Piece of Retail History
Dimensions supplied around 100 Tesco colleagues with replica uniforms based on those worn by store employees more than 50 years ago, ensuring every detail reflected the era.
The project has become an annual collaboration, with new additions introduced each year to enhance the experience.
Account Manager Ann Barbour said:
"This is the fourth year Tesco has asked us to support this project and, although it's a demanding one, it's always incredibly enjoyable. This year we supplied higher volumes of the traditional store uniforms alongside new items including drivers' flat caps, ponchos and glamorous dolly dresses, all produced in the UK.
My favourite addition was the miniature versions of the uniforms created for children's dressing-up outfits, which were also manufactured in the UK. They proved so popular that we're exploring the possibility of making them available for festival visitors to purchase in the future. It's wonderful to help people take a trip down memory lane."
Careful Planning Delivers Authentic Results
Planning for the event begins as early as January, giving the Dimensions team and its UK manufacturing partners plenty of time to produce the specialist garments required.
The long lead time ensures every uniform meets the festival's high standards of authenticity while allowing production to scale in line with growing demand each year.
Projects like Goodwood Revival demonstrate how Dimensions combines heritage-inspired design, UK manufacturing expertise and collaborative customer partnerships to create memorable experiences beyond everyday uniform supply.
