Dimensions and Rowland Hill Fund deliver charity bike ride!
Posted on 11 July, 2017
The Rowland Hill Fund, established in 1882 provides financial help wherever it is needed to Royal Mail Group colleagues, both past and present. In the early days of its existence the Fund was often one of the only places that individuals could turn when they were in financial distress, although there is more help available now to modern day colleagues, the need for the Fund has not gone away.
In 2014 the Fund dealt with 370 cases and in total £350,000 was distributed throughout the year to both current and retired staff, for things such as mortgage payments and essential household goods.
During May and June, The Rowland Hill Fund challenged Royal Mail colleagues to come together in their local area to undertake a fundraising cycle ride. As soon as Dimensions heard about it, we couldn’t wait to get involved! Working with Briggs Equipment, another trusted Royal Mail supplier we provided 150 highest quality cycle vests to those taking part.
We know that you don’t perform your best – unless you’re wearing the best.
From Edinburgh to Brighton, bikes are being dusted off and exercise bikes are being powered up as over 130 people register to take part in a cycle ride. One of the first teams to complete a cycle ride in early May was a Chesterfield based team who undertook a 50 mile circular ride from Chesterfield to Sheffield and back again, proudly donning their Rowland Hi Fund cycle vests.
Phil Harland, Director of Client Management at Dimensions says; “Dimensions are proud to support the Rowland Hill Fund, to work with a company that gives such support to their staff both past and present is fantastic. We’re honoured to have played a part in this event and wish every cyclist good luck with their ride.”
