5 minutes with… Account Management

This month, we’ve been speaking to Ian McGinty, one of our Commercial Directors. In his role, Ian supports a team of Account Managers in ensuring that we deliver our clients’ needs. We spent five minutes talking about his main weekly duties, what differentiates Dimensions’ Account Managers and what the highlight of his career has been so far…
How long have you been working at Dimensions?
I achieved 15 years’ service in January this year.
How have you progressed since joining Dimensions?
Since starting as Sainsbury’s Account Manager back in 2002, I have progressed on to Commercial Director, but still work closely with Sainsbury’s!
What are your main weekly duties?
My role is to support an enthusiastic and talented Account Management team, in delivering industry leading customer service to some of the UK’s best known brands. We are responsible for ensuring that the business resources are focused on delivering what our customers need; it’s all about service – right product, right price, and right quality – on time.
Which departments do you work most closely with?
The customer is our main focus, so to achieve the best service for them, we collaborate with every department within the business.
Is there a time of year that is busiest for you?
The retail trading peaks, such as pre-Easter and pre-Christmas are the business’ busiest times.
Which part of your job do you enjoy the most?
Meeting customers and working with such a fantastic and passionate team.
What is the most challenging part of your job?
Delivering what our customers want within the budgets they set!

What has been the highlight of your career at Dimensions so far?
Working with some of the UK’s best known brands and helping to deliver some of the biggest uniform programmes in the UK for over a decade.
