Dimensions’ Hole-in-One at Tesco Charity Event
Posted on 31 May, 2016
On Thursday 19th May, Tesco hosted a charity golf day at the Forest of Arden golf course, to raise money for their charity partners The British Heart Foundation and Diabetes UK.
Dimensions was proud to support this event, by sponsoring both the first and eighteenth holes of the course and supplying all of the polo shirts for the staff which were helping to organise the event. The day was attended by Director of Client Management Phil Harland, Commercial Director Ian McGinty and Tesco Account Manager, Ann Barbour from Dimensions, who were invited to join the event by Tesco’s Procurement Director. They were also accompanied by some key Tesco personnel involved with the Tesco uniform contract.
The event was aimed at raising funds to help support a further event which the Tesco team are participating in. A team of 10 Tesco colleagues, including Procurement Director Doug Black, will be climbing the highest trekking peak in the Himalayas – the 22,000ft (6,500m) Mera Peak. Most of the team are self-funding, so that the maximum amount can be raised for the charities.
In addition to the golf day, a dinner, raffle and an auction also took place in the evening, which saw Dimensions’ own Ann Barbour win a driving experience in a Lamborghini!
The event was not only a fantastic night for all who attended, but was a huge fundraising success, as over £27,000 was raised for Tesco’s two chosen charities! Tesco colleagues have raised over £10 million pounds so far in their effort to raise £30m for their chosen charity partners – a phenomenal achievement.
Dimensions wishes the Tesco colleagues the best of luck on their trek of the Himalayas and we look forward to hearing what their fundraising total comes to!
